A message from the President

Hi to all the Vultures Family in season 2022,

Preseason is well under way with great numbers across Netball and Football.

It’s been great to see the squads increasing with new players and the return of old players.

There is a great vibe around with 2 women’s teams more than likely, men’s squad excited by the new challenges of C Grade ( been a while ) and the likelihood of 4 Netball teams

The Supers will again have 3 sides with good numbers at the moment.

The Pre Season matches start on the 19/3/22 with a trip to Tarwin for the Seniors- Reserves-Women’s and Netballers.

The following week we will welcome Hampton Rovers, hopefully at Gerry Green-Waiting on KCC to confirm.

The Seniors and Reserves have a BYE in the first round which will give us the opportunity to hold our Season launch the following day 3/4/22 as we don’t gain full access to the club until 1/4/22.

There will be more info on the day in the following weeks.

In 2020 the club realized that we needed to increase our social media profile and sponsorship. We employed Anna Worsnop to hopefully fulfil those areas.

In the last 2 challenging years Anna has more than exceeded our expectations.

Anna has decided not to continue her role. The club thanks her for all her efforts over the last 2 seasons.

One door shuts and another opens. Julie Ahearn has taken over the Sponsorship Role. Julie has a long association in marketing and the club and Julie are excited about the partnership. Welcome Julie

Our Social Media will be controlled by Hamish Dun who was the 19’s TM last season and also produced our Presentation Day collage last season. He started last week and is updating our website ASAP. Welcome Hamish.

Apart from our Season launch we have a few other socials events locked in.

Mothers Day is always a difficult occasion in the Sporting Families of our local area.

To change it up a bit we are going to hold a Mothers Day luncheon on Friday 6th of May—More info later, but lock the date away!.

Its very difficult to hold club luncheons on Saturdays for a few reasons:

  • Limited operating space in our canteen, bar restrictions.
  •  Most club helpers already committed to other roles on game day
  • Supporters committed to kids or their sport
  • Guest speakers usually committed.

This season we will try to have the majority of luncheons on Fridays with a time frame of Bar open at 1.00pm lunch served at 2.00pm.

This will allow us an uninterrupted afternoon of socializing.

So organize an early start on a Friday and get on down for a good lunch and a few drinks with mates. Attend a Zoom meeting at the club!

We will still have a couple of Saturday events but the main ones will be Fridays.

Friday 13th of May will be a general lunch. Arrive at 1.30 for lunch at 2.00pm with a guest speaker almost confirmed.

Our Club 200 packages are available from next week and we thank Darren Fenech-Past President and Jack Tully-Former Premiership player and Supers Coach for looking after the Club 200’s this season. Thanks boys.

After the last 2 seasons of uncertainty and frustration the club has recognised the commitment all players have shown and decided that in  2022, NO SUBS WILL BE PAYABLE for Seniors, Reserves, U/19’s, Women’s and Netballers

Next week we will introduce all to our new Coaching structures and recruits for 2022.

Cheers

Neil Jenkins.
